{ Review + Swatches } Ameli Eyeshadows PLUS a Makeup Look!

Hello to my wonderful readers! I have another review and swatches post today featuring Ameli eyeshadows which were kindly sent to me by Vanity Box. Ameli is a Korean cosmetics brand which not only sell eyeshadows but also blushes, bronzers and highlighters. I've never actually heard or tried this brand before until I was introduced to it through the Vanity Box website so of course I was super thrilled to be able to try them out!

Vanity Box surprised me with four gorgeous Ameli eyeshadows, two from the "Sweet Diamond" range (the light pink and bronzey-brown shade) and two from the "Sparkle Spot" range (the tangerine-orange and purple shadows).

Clock-wise: #504 Orange Fanta, #125 Luxury Brown, #511 Arabian Night, #180 Rose Rococo

First off, I really love their packaging, really sturdy and pretty. In terms of the quality of these eyeshadows, their pigmentation is great, especially the brown-bronzey shadow. They're not the best eyeshadows I own but not the worst either. They're all shimmery and super glittery eyeshadows with the exception of the brown-bronze eyeshadow which does not have any micro-glitters. If you're a fan of pretty glittery eyeshadows then you may love these!

Since these eyeshadows are packed with glitters, you may be thinking, what about the fall-out? To be honest I did not experience a ton of fall-out which was pretty amazing. It really all depends on how you apply these eyeshadows and how well you work with them. I really recommend either using a good eyeshadow primer or tapping the eyeshadow on your lids instead of using a sweeping motion.

"Sparkle Spot" #504 Orange Fanta
A sheer tangerine-orange shadow packed with micro-glitters

"Sparkle Spot" #511 Arabian Night
A gorgeous deep eggplant purple with plenty of silver micro-glitters

"Sweet Diamond" #180 Rose Rococo
A sheer rosy-pink eyeshadow with silver micro-glitters

"Sweet Diamond" #125 Luxury Brown
A super pigmented deep bronze-brown shimmery shade

L-R: #125 Luxury Brown, #504 Orange Fanta, #180 Rose Rococo, #511 Arabian Night

Pros:
  • Beautiful pigmented colours
  • Wide range of Ameli eyeshadows
  • Pretty packaging
  • Affordable and inexpensive
  • Long-lasting even without an eyeshadow primer
  • Smooth and silky shadows, not powdery or chalky

Cons:
  • Packaging too bulky for travelling
  • May experience a little fall-out due to the massive amounts of glitters

...and here's just a makeup look I created using ALL four eyeshadows for a night out : ) A light wash of #180 Rose Rococo all over my lids and #511 Arabian Night in my outer corners to intensify the eyes and for a smokey effect. #504 Orange Fanta dabbed on the centre of my lids and in my inner corners of my lower lash line finished off with #125 Luxury Brown on my outer lower lash line.

All in all, I'm really impressed with Ameli eyeshadows and am super in awe with the pretty colours, glittery finishes and the gorgeous packaging. What's great is also the price tag! They're currently on sale from $6.50-$14 on Vanity Box.

On top of that and only exclusive to my blog readers, I have a 15% off coupon code "DEMURE" which you can enter at the checkout for 15% off your purchase when you shop at Vanity Box, including sale items ;) *yay* I also have to add that I do not make any $$$ etc. when you use my code! It's purely for your own benefit!

Happy holidays everyone and I hope you all have a super wonderful xmas with your loved ones!

{ STYLE } My Kingdom

If you don't already know, I love my statement necklaces. Just a simple, casual and plain looking outfit can be instantly transformed into something a bit more dressy and suited to more formal events. Formal occassions or not, you would probably catch me wearing bold jewellery pieces on most days of the week.

I picked out this 'Kingdom' necklace from Vanity Box (an Australian-based fashion and cosmetics online store)- I personally prefer statement necklaces with shorter chains, in that it would sit on my upper chest although I could not pass up on this one! I was immediately drawn to its bold design, especially the glamorous-looking pendant, the earthy colour scheme and the vintage-esque feel.

The necklace feels like it's really well-made, sturdy and it's not too lightweight. The only frustration I have with this necklace is that it can get tangled really easily, obviously with the many chains and layers incorporated into the design- so appropriate storage is a must!

Vanity Box is selling this gorgeous item on their website for $18.80AUD. Amazing! Doesn't this piece look a lot more expensive?! Super satisfied :D

Visit Vanity Box here for more gorgeous items, including a variety of Asian-brand cosmetics, fashion apparel and accessories!
