{ Review + Swatches } NYX Round Lipsticks

Hey guys! So for my first ever blog post I'm going to be doing a quick review on the ever so famous NYX round lipsticks.

Here's my mini collection of NYX round lippies!

....and here are some swatches ;)

I must say for the price of these lipsticks, their quality is pretty amazing! I believe I purchased mine for around $2.50 each and as you can see the colour payoff is pretty darn good. I remember being so amazed on how it applied so smoothly on the lips and how creamy it was. There is a slight scent to them although I can't really put my finger on it *sniffing as I type*. It's kind of a nice sweet smell, not too overpowering.

So...the bad points. Even though they are creamy and smooth, they are not very long lasting! With any lipstick, I find that after you eat or whatever you need to re-apply it. It also tends to slip and slide on your lips which is one of my pet peeves! But what can you really expect from a two buck fifty lippy.

Description of the round lippies I own (all are cream finishes with the exception of Harmonica):

Eros: True cherry red
Snow White: Dark burgundy red (good for a vampy look)
Femme: Reddish/orange coral
Fire: Raspberry red
Tea Rose: Neutral pink with a slight hint of mauve (most wearable I think)
Fig: Berry pink (pinker than Tea Rose, also wearable)
Harmonica: Sheer bubblegum baby pink (HATE! >< pink is way too light, not flattering, application is patchy)
Narcissus: Bright neon-ish pink
Strawberry Milk: Baby pink
Thalia: Mauve with a slight hint of brown
Circe: True flesh-tone nude (one of my fave nudes!)
Honey: Nude, very slight hint of a brown undertone

Pros:
- inexpensive
- pigmented
- smooth and creamy

Cons:
- not long lasting
- can slip and slide on the lips

Nice list: Eros, Tea Rose, Fig, Circe
Naughty list: Harmonica

If you guys have any questions, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below! Hope you enjoyed my first post : )

    1. sorry for the late reply! i would say use a red lip liner first, that way you'll avoid the red lipstick bleeding out. good luck!
